In 2016, culinary enthusiact and father-daughter team, Dana and Christian, took over Boondocks with a vision to turn it into a “Family-friendly true Lowcountry seafood restaurant that provides delicious food at a great price, and an authentic southern hospitality experience.”
Dana and Christian weathered a rough start due to Hurricane Matthew devastating Saint Helena Island and closing major tourist destinations, such as Hunting Island State Park and Fripp Island.
Dana took that time while rebuilding to create an inviting place for the Island Locals and the Island’s Guests to have a true Lowcountry experience and feel at home.
Now, Boondocks is one of the “must visit” locations for locals and tourists alike who are in search of an authentic and delicious Lowcountry dining experience, drinks, and live music. These are the why TripAdvisor has awarded the Boondocks Team an excellence award every year since they have reopened.
